NTPA Mack Semi-Pulling Truck
Blue Ox Power
When John Bojec of Chardon Ohio, the proud owner of the Blue Ox pulling truck, was looking to get the most possible power put of his custom turbo exhaust system, he turned to Swain Tech Coatings of Scottsville, New York. John runs his big blue Mack in the NTPA semi division where he enjoyed an amazing 14 wins in 1998.
John likes to describe his V-8 Mack diesel as a Chevy big block with a Ford firing order. The fuel injection system injects the fuel directly into the cylinders. A four turbocharger setup forces the air into the intake at 150 PSI with each boost.

To keep the maximum heat inside the turbo system, John sent his pipes to Swain Tech Coatings to have their White Lightning ceramic thermal barrier exhaust coating to retain the maximum heat and keep the turbo spinning as efficiently as possible. John chose White Lightning because it is the only true performance exhaust coating available. Unlike the thinner shinny coatings that are primarily designed for cosmetics, White Lightning is formulated to keep the heat inside the pipes. At .015″ thick (vs. about .001”), this three layer ceramic coating really does the trick. Horsepower is increased while under hood and cockpit temperatures are lowered.
